Wounded Warriors to Receive Segways on Deck of USS Midway

Segs4Vets is a new Athlebrity favorite…the organization, founded in 2006, basically gives Segway Scooters to Wounded Warriors.

Following its first presentation, the Segs4Vets program rallied the US Military for a waiver allowing them to exceed the allotted donation amount…and they won, becoming the only recipient of a blanket waiver from the United States military, allowing a donation in excess of $1000 to active-duty military personnel. Pro-Golfers Support ‘Caddy For A Cure’

The Farmers Insurance Open runs this week in San Diego, and inside the ropes today are several very happy Wounded Warriors caddying for Stuart Cink and Dustin Johnson as part of the ‘Caddy for a Cure’ program.


In case you don’t know: Caddy For A Cure offers the public the opportunity to experience a day “inside-the-ropes” at a PGA TOUR venue, caddying for a PGA TOUR player—with 100% of the proceeds going to charity. It’s a chance to walk the greatest courses in the nation, next to the greatest players and names in the world of golf, at a sanctioned PGA TOUR event. With the help of XTERRA, Skydive Hawaii, Outrigger Hotels, AccesSurf and Disabled American Veterans of Hawaii, Corporal Todd Love’s XTREME DREAM came true on a recent trip to Hawaii….the stud lost both his legs and part of his left arm when an explosive device was triggered while he was on a recon mission in Afghanistan in October 2010.
