Camilo Villegas & Caddy for a Cure Make Fathers Day Special
At this week’s St Jude Fed-Ex Classic, most golf fans had their eyes on the players, while I, as usual, kept my eyes on the amazing Caddy for a Cure organization.
Caddy for a Cure offers the public the opportunity to experience a day “inside-the-ropes” at a PGA TOUR venue, caddying for a PGA TOUR player—with 100% of the proceeds going to charity.

During the event, Camilo Villegas’s caddy was part of the Caddy for a Cure program…Villegas is not new to the organization, but his latest involvement embodies what the organization is all about.
Mac McNeil is a young patient at St. Judes Hospital who is recovering from brain cancer …his father bought him a Caddy for a Cure experience and he escorted his Dad while he caddied for Villegas.
Caddy for a Cure: ‘Watching a father, and a son with brain cancer, enjoy the best that golf has to offer, with Camilo Villegas, is something very special. See the arm around the son as only a father can do, at this week’s St Jude Fed Ex Classic…there have been times in 10 years of ‘caddying for a cure’ that have choked us up.”
And for me, this is one of those rare moments in life where sports and humanity renew my faith in the power of love.
Thanks Camilo and Caddy for a Cure.

Pro-Golfers Support ‘Caddy For A Cure’
The Farmers Insurance Open runs this week in San Diego, and inside the ropes today are several very happy Wounded Warriors caddying for Stuart Cink and Dustin Johnson as part of the ‘Caddy for a Cure’ program.

In case you don’t know: Caddy For A Cure offers the public the opportunity to experience a day “inside-the-ropes” at a PGA TOUR venue, caddying for a PGA TOUR player—with 100% of the proceeds going to charity. It’s a chance to walk the greatest courses in the nation, next to the greatest players and names in the world of golf, at a sanctioned PGA TOUR event. You can caddy for a PGA TOUR or LPGA Tour Professional and help the Fanconi Anemia Research Fund, Birdies for the Brave, and many other nonprofit charities. Continue reading

LPGA Supports ‘Caddy For A Cure’
One of my favorite organizations, Caddy For A Cure, got some serious love from the LPGA during the Safeway Classic Presented by Coca-Cola in Portland last week.
‘Caddy For A Cure’ gives people a once in a lifetime experience of caddying for professional golfers while raising money for charity. The most recent event gave winners caddy-duties for three of the best from the LPGA: Paula Creamer, Stacy Lewis and Natalie Gulbis.
‘Caddy For A Cure’ was founded by Russ Holden 18 years ago after his friends son Christian was born with Fanconi Anemia, a devastating genetic bone marrow disorder. Christian now serves as the National Spokesperson for the organization, and has been capturing hearts on the golf courses for years. In fact, Christian’s list of celebrity-golf buddies include: Boo Weekly, Camilo Villegas, Phil Mickleson, Jim Furyk, Ricky Fowler and many others
‘Caddy For A Cure’ has been such a success that it’s now giving fans a chance to ‘Roadie For A Cure’ with Shania Twain as the first artist to support the cause. Athlebrities has had both eyes on ‘Caddy For A Cure’ for years and couldn’t be happier at their continued success. Plus, Christian is about the best spokesperson in the world, with an endearing disposition and a wonderfully wicked sense of humor.
100% of the money raised by ‘Caddy For A Cure’ and ‘Roadie For A Cure’ goes to charity. Give ‘em some love.

Caddy for a Cure With Camilo Villegas
Caddy for a Cure With Camilo Villegas
I’ve met him, squeezed him, kissed him, smelled him and asked him to crawl for me…and now, it’s your chance. The kitten of which I speak of is-of course- Camilo Villegas. If your ovaries just did a back flip, then have I got an auction for you…
Our kitten is participating in the ‘Caddy for a Cure’ program where’s he’s put himself on the ‘I need a caddy” list auction. The auction is for an opportunity to caddy for PGA Tour player, Camilo Villegas, at the FedExCup Playoffs event, the Deutsche Bank Championship. The Deutsche Bank Championship will be held at the TPC of Boston in Norton, MA September 1 thru September 7, 2009. The caddy date will be Thursday, September 3rd.
Aside from touching the most ripped player in the PGA and getting an up close and personal look at his J. Lindberg belt buckle-er, I mean clothing- the winner of the auction will walk Inside the Ropes and be his caddy for a day. No golf knowledge is necessary…as I’m sure you’ll be given plenty of advise on which ‘wood, club, iron, driver, whatever’ the beast needs for any given shot. After all, even someone with knowledge of the clubs is likely to become distracted by Camilo’s biceps.

The winner of the auction will start the day by meeting up with Camilo when he arrives to warm up on the putting green…then you’re off to begin your day of heavenly bliss…you’ll be within hugs reach as he hit balls, crawls, stretches, swaggers, scores and slinks along the course.
According to the auction “you will get to know the PGA Tour player like never before with a chance to walk the tournament golf course, side by side with him, chatting about some of the great experiences of his career and wins on Tour” and you’ll even get to ask him about Delinda and why he (a-hem) still hasn’t answered her request for information about his Foundation. (Sorry Cam, you know I love ya but your PR peeps suck hard and I’ve got no problem saying so.)
In any case, it’s all for a good cause. Caddy For A Cure is an amazing organization that aims to increase awareness of and contribute toward finding effective treatments and a cure for Fanconi anemia, while contributing toward the awareness, education, and cures for many nationally recognized diseases and social and educational issues. They do all this by offering one-of-a-kind sports fantasies to caddy for PGA TOUR players in official practice rounds of PGA TOUR events.
And while I’m not a big fan of posting info about our hotties personal life, I do see that many of you are searching for information about whether or not Camilo Villegas has a girlfriend. The last time I checked, Camilo was very much involved with someone. They’ve been together for a while…so unless they’ve broken up, our Kitten is smitten. Sorry to burst your bubble…but I gotta say she’s a really nice girl…and no, I ain’t printing her name. (I’m sure you can find it somewhere else on the web)….
As always, thanks for reading. Delinda@athlebrities.com
