NBA ROUND UP: D1 STYLE
I SEE YOU BOYS
Let’s see what’s been going on with some of our NBA hotties…first and foremost, gotta give mad love to one of the most active and vocal humanitarian ballers in the league. Etan Thomas. The Washington Wizard is currently in Barcelona taking part in the NBA Europe Live Tour and the above photo, without question, goes down as one of the most unique I’ve seen in a long time…Tiptoe’s anyone?
Also gotta throw my arms around the tree-trunk physique of Vlade Divac (above). Although Vlade looks wasted in the above photo and seems to have fallen off the radar, he hasn’t fallen off my libido’s radar. The sexy Serbian isnt wasting anytime in pursuit of bettering the world after a life of hoops, instead, hot stuff has become an ‘adviser in Serbians government’ where he will be in charge of humanitarian issues and sports, and will work with Vice Premier Ivica Dacic. “I’ve named Vlade Divac as my adviser for foreign policy, the diaspora, sport and humanitarian work on the basis of his international reputation,” said Dačić. Vlade said he took the post in order to help promote humanitarian work in Serbia, where he now lives and runs a humanitarian organization. His foundation recently launched a campaign called “You Can Too“ which has helped relocate refugee families from collective centers to new homes in the country.
Various LA Lakers teamed up with Toyota and the NBA to create the seasons first ‘LA Lakers Reading and Learning Center at the Boys and Girls Club of East L.A’. Ya all know what it does to me when I see these men take it down a notch and kick it with the kids. (L-R) Sasha Vujacic, Luke Walton, Andrew Bynum, Clyde Drexler, Derek Fisher and Pau Gasol participated in a ribbon cutting ceremony…
…while, do I dare say-that my domino’s are dancing like Mexican jumping beans at the thought of a lil one-on-one competition with Sasha Vujacic (far right) or a private reading session with Fisher (far left) before bedtime…

Gilbert Arenas Wants Your Video
GILBERT ARENAS WANTS YOUR VIDEO

Over the next four weeks, if you’re creative enough, Gilbert Arenas will be watching you…well, maybe not you, but your video. As a member of the NBA FIT team, Arenas has joined forces with the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), the Advertising Council and the Boys & Girls Clubs of America to encourage young adults to take ‘small steps’ to get healthy.
The national user-generated video contest hosted on YouTube aims to encourage teens (14-24) to submit original videos demonstrating the power of taking small steps to get healthy and not end up looking like a miniature Sumo-wrestlers.
“As an athlete, I know how important both exercise and nutrition are to my everyday performance,” said Arenas. “This contest is a great way to get young people across the country to show that they are up to the challenge of telling us just how important regular exercise and maintaining a healthy diet are to them and how creative they can be in fitting it into their daily lives.”
So put down the Cheetos, Micky D’s and Pop-Tarts and submit your own video illustrating the benefits of taking small steps to get healthy. Submissions will be accepted until Oct. 7. The 10 videos that receive the most views on YouTube between Oct. 8 and Oct. 28 will be judged by a panel of advertising professionals, health officials, BGCA representatives and the NBA’s Arenas. The panel will announce the grand prize winner in partnership with Boys & Girls Clubs of America in Washington, D.C., at the end of October. One Grand Prize winner will receive $2,500 in cash and prizes to NBAStore.com. Four runners-up will receive $500 toward NBA merchandise and athletic gear and no one wins a swim in Gils pool.
