Magic Johnson To Award Graduating Scholar New Fiat

Earvin “Magic” Johnson to Honor Students and Celebrate 15th Anniversary of Magic Johnson Foundation’s Taylor Michaels Scholarship Program at Special Brunch 

The Magic Johnson Foundation & FIAT will giveaway a brand new FIAT 500 car to a graduating student at annual leadership summit

WHO: Earvin “Magic” Johnson, the Magic Johnson Foundation (MJF), XX scholars who demonstrate high academic achievement and alumni of the Taylor Michael Scholarship Program (TMSP).

WHAT:  Johnson will be on hand at a FedEx-sponsored brunch to honor 26 graduating scholars and 35 “rookies” who earned Magic Johnson Foundation’s Taylor Michaels Scholarship. The Taylor Michaels Scholarship Program (TMSP) develops future leaders by supporting socioeconomically challenged high achievers through completion of their undergraduate degrees and offers support including laptops, mentorships, and internships. This year, MJK and TMSP has teamed up with FIAT to award one graduating scholar a new FIAT 500 (to be announced on the spot.)

  • 460 scholarships given away to date, $4 million total
  • TMSP scholars attain a Bachelor’s Degrees at a rate of over 80%
  • TMSP alumni go on to graduate from top universities such as Howard, Brown, USC, among others

Along with Magic Johnson, a representative from MJF, and past scholarship honorees of the Taylor Michaels Scholarship will be available for interviews. Also available: photo opps with Magic Johnson and students at the car giveaway.
