GO ON, TAKE A LITTLE PIECE OF MY HEART

I wasn’t gonna blog today, but waking up to the sounds of Rafael Nadal grunting made me think twice. Roger Federer, who is vying to become the first player in the Open era to win 10 titles in three straight years, defeated Robby Ginepri today. What a shocker. And our favorite tapa, Rafael Nadal appeared to be his usual super-fine sexy self: confident, sweating, flexing, sneering, grunting and teasing the hell outta my libido. With the veins popping in his biceps, Rafa put up a hell of a fight against Tomas Berdych who eventually beat our beast. Rafa clearly had the crowd behind him, with every lost point, the stadium fell silent and a little piece of my heart broke. Silence and disbelief swept through the match as the defending champion, Rafael Nadal, left the stadium.

The pain of Rafa’a loss comes with some good new. Today, Versaly has released the Rafael Nadal mobile phone wallpapers for distribution to various wireless carriers. Wallpapers include ‘Between Sets, Match Point and Wins on Clay’. Cingular and Verizon subscribers should be able to purchase and download those, and other yummy Rafa wallpapers, within the next 2 weeks.
DOUBLE TIME

Tiki Barber has said that he is retiring after this season, causing a predicted media freak-out. All hotties have to retire at some point, and I trust the New York Giants all-time leading rusher knows when his time has come. “I’ve been talking about retirement for years now, and it has nothing to do with being physical or money or Hall of Fame,” Barber said. “It’s all about my desires, and for me to change them would compromise my integrity and would compromise who I am as a person and what I’ve always stood for. I have a lot of interests and I’ve never wanted to be solely defined as a football player. I wasn’t that way in high school, I wasn’t that way in college and I won’t compromise my ideals to be that way in the National Football League.” And with that quote, Tike Barber earns mega-hot points. Tiki and double-de-licious brother Ronde, who plays for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, have written a new children’s book, ‘Teammates’ which details how Tiki overcame a problem with “losing grip of the ball when he ran as a young player.” Hotties have also authored “By My Brother’s Side” (2004) and “Game Day” (2005).
BIG BEN ROETHLISBERGER WEIGHTS IN FOR CHARITY

Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and his mama Brenda partook in a little Campbell’s Chunk Soup fun yesterday. Both sat on a giant spoon scale as cases of the soup were piled on the other end. It took 348 cans of soup to balance the couple, and 504 cans to balance offensive lineman Max Starks and his mama. All cans of soup will be donated to the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank.
ELI MANNING ‘WHAT MOVES YOU’

Although he doesn’t move me, I gotta give some props to Eli Manning after he visited the Adolph S. Ochs School and Academy. Manning was there to launch the combined efforts of the NFL & American Heart Association’s exercise program called ‘What Moves You’. The program is designed to “incorporate physical activity” in classroom lessons. Huh? Why not just take away the Ritalin?
RON ARTEST IS RAPPING AGAIN

The entertainment value of Ron Artest is absolutely priceless. The Mensa reject has actually earned some hot points for his latest CD “My World.” On the first track, Artest says he wants to teach Commissioner Stern “bout the ghetto.” The song titled “Haterz” also rips on Matt Lauer claiming he “looks like a girl” and raps about the Brawl (aka the unforgettable Palace-gate incident in 2004)…such eloquent lyrics “Touched the wrong person, Steve Jack had my back/O’Neal and A.J. with the counterattack.”….He also clarifies the song’s boast of smoking ‘right before games’ and hitting ‘the liquor store for a half pint’ at halftime. (hot points earned for those lyrics). “Right now, I’m playing hard but not smart,” he said. “At times, the industry hasn’t embraced me for who I am in a business sense. But I’m just going to keep going. If I lose, then I lose. But I’m trying to win.” Anyone wanting to help Artest “win” can grab a copy of his CD October 31st.
OBVIOUSLY A JOKE
The FBI and the Department of Homeland Security said that an Internet threat claiming terrorist attacks were planned on seven NFL stadiums this weekend was “determined by investigators to be ‘a hoax.” No shit! It was obviously a joke when the ‘target’ stadiums were named. Missing from the list was Chargers playing field, Qualcomm Stadium. If this threat were ‘credible’, certainly Qualcomm would have been on the top of the list.
NY METS

I’m not gonna give props to the Cardinals for beating the NY Mets. I am going to say good-bye and thanks for a great season to David Wright, Jose Reyes, Carlos Delgado and the entire team for giving us some of the finest games of the year. The loyalty of the Mets’ fan-base was so evident last night that admittedly, I may have shed a tear. And this loyalty wasn’t created by a red soul-patch, but by playing the game with passion and as a team. Good luck red-birds, those Tigers are gonna eat you alive.
FREE TOM BRADY FATHEAD
In the spirit of sharing, I’m giving away a Tom Brady Fathead. Yes, 100% free. If you are not familiar with these wall-mountable-life-sized edible shrines, check out www.fathead.com.Through October 31st, send me an email telling me what turns you on about this NFL hottie. I’m looking for that one special reader who can best describe why Tom Brady is worthy of our love, on & off the field. The winner may also have their “observations” published on my site. So, write-away my hungry little sporn kats, and Tom Brady might just end up being mounted on your wall. (This promotion is not affiliated with Fathead…just me being nice)
Until Monday, and as always, thanks for reading. Delinda
