Kevin Garnett in India, Alonzo Mourning does good, Big Papi, Ebay treats.
A WOLF IN INDIA

The tall, hot, chiseled Minnesota Timberwolves’ Kevin Garnett had landed in India. And he loves it.

Garnett, acting as the Adidas India Brand Ambassador was in New Delhi in order to support the growing popularity basketball. “I love India. The people here are warm and welcoming…I want to see India myself, see Taj Mahal, promote basketball and encourage those who play and those who don’t,’ said Garnett. Aside from taking in all the sites , Garnett is really there for the launch of the third Adidas signature shoe - A3 Garnett’06. “Not just in the US, but in China and India, the game has grown so much.”’ he added. And my admiration for this 6’11” beast has grown as well.
GO ZO
The Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau (GMCVB) and Miami Heat hottie Alonzo Mourning teamed up this weekend to provide eight underprivileged kids from the New York and Miami the chance to hang with NBA Athlebrities and get motivated. After submitting 150-word essays that profiled an outstanding contribution he/she has made to the local community, eight lucky youngsters were selected as winners. They got four nights at the Miami Beach Resort & Spa, a celebrity basketball game, a concert with Gloria Estefan, a session to discuss the challenges in their lives and communities and tons of other free stuff.

Mourning has been making kids happy every summer when his charity hosts South Florida’s largest basketball training clinic. It provides 1,200 disadvantaged kiddies the opportunity to interact with their basketball heroes, learn fundamentals of the sport, participate in interactive activities and hear inspirational messages. (Go Heat!) This marks the 10th Anniversary of Zo’s Summer Groove and this year it’s highlighted by the Heat’s triumphant spanking over the Mavericks. Zo efforts and his Summer Groove are the Holy Grail of Charity events. Check out http://www.ZSG.com for information on Zo’s Summer Celebrations.
PAPI TIME

Red Sox Designated Hottie David Ortiz and D’Angelo Grilled Sandwiches have joined forces this summer to promote the “Papi Says Scratch and Win” campaign. (I’ve scratched Papi and nothing happened) The campaign, which features Ortiz looking as edible as a grilled sandwich, includes a grand prize of batting practice with Papi himself. For a chance to win, you gotta go get a “Papi Says” scratch ticket at D’Angelo’s. The scratcher features a caricature version of Ortiz with three talk bubbles. The talk bubbles are scratched to reveal prizes. You gotta log onto www.papisays.com to find out if you win batting practice.
SOME INTERESTING EBAY GOODIES
So I decided to see what kinda hottie related items were being sold on Ebay.

There is a David Beckham Pepsi can up for bids. None so far. It’s billed as a “collectors” item and hard to find. I’m tempted to buy the Rafael Nadal “Vamos” Charity Bracelets. As hot as they are, I’d rather have my money go to his charity than an Ebay power seller. Apparently, these sexy rubber bracelets sold out in one day at the ATP event in Ohio.

Another seller from the UK has put together an “Unauthorized Freddie Ljungberg calender.” Authorized or not, the photos are hot.

And a delicious discovery…Camilo Villegas is showing up on Ebay. A signed photo and plenty rookie cards are available. But shy away from the Cigar Aficionado magazines, as they are still available in book stores everywhere.
That’s it for now. As always, thanks for reading. Delinda
