Aaron Baddeley, Andy Roddick, David Wright, Albert Pujols, Barry Bonds, Joe Mericka and the Camilo Villegas crawl connection.

Australia’s Aaron Baddeley is getting hotter with each round of golf.

He won his maiden PGA Tour title by a shot at the Heritage Classic in Hilton Head, South Carolina on Sunday.

His Athlebrity achievements include winning the Australian Open in 1999, and he became the youngest player since 1959 to do so. In 2000, this sexy Aussie turned pro and successfully defended his Australian Open title. In 2001, Baddeley made the cut in nine PGA Tour events and along with Athlebrity favorite pin-up boy Adam Scott, earned a tie for 14th at the WGC-World Cup. The accomplishments continued to mount, and as of this weekend, the whole world should know who this sexy beast is.

Now you may be saying to yourself- hey, where the hell was Camilo Villegas? Unfortunately, the hot lawn-cat crawling Columbian didn’t make the final cut, therefore, no Camilo yumminess taunting us from the greens. I did learn, however, of an interesting fact. The “Camilo Crawl” as I like to call it, has been around for years. And it originated by another golfer from Florida. Flashback to the early 70’s and you’ll find that golfer Joe Mericka was already crawling across the greens. Better yet, Joe Mericka is my uncle. I got the crawl in the DNA!

Uncle Joe attended the University of South Florida, on a golf scholarship, where he was the team captain. He played against the likes of Andy North (2 time US Open champ) and Steve Melnick, all the while being taught by Al Watrous. Did I mention Joe was also ranked 11th in the country in the NCAA at the time? Flash forward, present day. Mericka is still a well-established and respected golfer in Port Huron, Michigan. He frequents the Black River Country Club, which has hosted several prestigious local, state and national events throughout its history. Guess who holds the course record of 65? My Athlebrity uncle. Now, comes the Camilo crawl. Uncle Joe would routinely do the crawl while playing golf, “It was the only way to see the line of the putt,” he said, adding, “they thought I was nuts and I stopped doing it.” Fortunately, Joe didn’t need the crawl, as he and my grandfather George (the boxer) were both inducted in the Port Huron Sports Hall of Fame at the Thomas Edison Inn in Port Huron.

ANDY RODDICK FALLS OFF THE BOAT

Fifth-seeded Tommy Haas spanked Andy on clay again, beating the hottie a fourth straight time in a quarterfinal match Friday night at the U.S. Men’s Clay Court Championship.

Roddick failed to reach the finals for the first time in six years. The big points of the match were won, not lost, he said. “This is the first time I’ve left Houston on Friday,” he said, adding that he’d be on his boat on Lake Austin Saturday. “I’m mad but I’m not upset, if that makes sense. There are minimal questions I asked myself after that match.” Yeah like who is holding your mojo captive?

DAVID WRIGHT

This hot athlete from the Mets continues to be a fantasy stud in his third big league season. At 23 years-old this New York third baseman is hitting a ridiculous .469 in 2006 with 12 RBIs in eight games and hasn’t struck out in 32 at-bats. He’s young, hot, entertaining and definitely demands all the Athlebrity love we can give him. Rumor has it that he is the next “Jeter”…so keep your eyes open ladies, we gotta hottie in the house!

ALBERT PUJOLS

Another ridiculously hot athlete right now is Albert Pujols. In his first 5 seasons, Pujols is averaging 41 homers and 127 RBI’s but has only won an MVP award once! Things may change after this weekend. Pujols hit the game-winning homer against the Cardinals on Sunday, and, this hot game-winning homer was his third for the night!

Hottie Albert Pujols holds up three sexy fingers for his three home runs as he takes a curtain call after the game against the Cincinnati Reds on Sunday, April 16, 2006, at Busch Stadium in St. Louis.

MORE PROBLEMS WITH BARRY BONDS
The latest setback for the most controversial athlete alive is bone chips in his left elbow. Bonds told MLB.com that he has “10 to 12 bone chips floating” in his left elbow, which he revealed is swollen to “almost twice the size” of his other elbow.

“I’m going to keep playing until it blows up,” Bonds told MLB.com. “If I have to have a procedure, then I’m done. Finished. That would be it.” Bonds said he felt his elbow pop during a spring training batting practice session in March. Friday, head trainer Stan Conte was able to speak about the injury after getting clearance from Bonds, who controls his own flow of medical information to the media, the trainer said. “He does have bone chips,” Conte told MLB.com. “We knew that after he took the MRI during spring training. He does have it, and he’s going to have intermittent discomfort with that. A lot of players have those. We know from spring training that he gets irritated from time to time. There’s nothing we can do except keep an eye on it.”

How about keeping an eye on the ball? Pitchers are playing extra dirty this year. It seems like every time I watch a game, at least two hotties per game get hit.

Barry Bonds can take it though. Bonds smiled toward his dugout after being hit by a pitch in the eighth inning of the game against the Dodgers Sunday night.

Also hit by a pitch, was Bonds’ former teammate Jeff Kent, who didn’t take it quite as well as Barry did. Maybe that’s why Kent fits in so well with the Dodgers?

That’s it for today. As always, thanks for reading. Delinda
